Precarious Health: Undocumented immigration & Health Care in Canada

Canada’s identity is anchored in universal health care, yet a stark contrast exists between this national ideal and the lived reality of undocumented immigrants. This article investigates the systemic exclusion of this population from provincial health frameworks, arguing that linking eligibility to immigration status creates a dangerous inconsistency of values. Through analysis of legal and financial barriers, it reveals how this policy choice contravenes humanitarian principles and actively undermines public health for an increasing population within Canada.

Connecting Canadians: CAMP’s submission to the Competition Bureau’s study of airline competition

Canada’s airline sector is failing to deliver affordable, reliable connectivity. This submission to the Competition Bureau, which I helped develop during my time at CAMP, argues that market forces alone cannot fix the current duopoly. Drawing on lessons from the U.S. and Australia, it proposes bold interventions to foster competition. Recommendations include dedicating Bureau resources to monitoring, reducing airport fees for low-cost carriers, and adopting new models for regional access.
